Terms & Conditions
The basics
These terms apply to removals, clearance and related work carried out by CSQS Ltd trading as Coast Is Clear. Your quote, plus these terms, forms the agreement between us. If anything in the quote contradicts these terms, the quote wins.
We are a company registered in England & Wales (no. 12837363), registered office Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE. English law applies, and nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Quotes and prices
Quotes are fixed and in writing. The price changes only if the job changes — for example, access you described turns out materially different, items are added, or a property holds substantially more than was declared or shown at survey. Any revision is agreed with you before we continue, not billed afterwards.
Quotes are valid for 30 days. Guide prices on the website are indicative starting points, not quotes.
Bookings, deposits and cancellation
Larger bookings take a small deposit, stated on the quote, to hold the date. If you cancel more than 72 hours before the job, any deposit is returned in full. Within 72 hours we may retain the deposit to cover reserved crew and vehicle time. If we cancel (other than for dangerous conditions or legal reasons), you get a full refund and our genuine apology.
Where you book at a distance (by phone or email), you may have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start within that period, you agree we may do so; you may then owe a reasonable amount for work already done if you cancel.
Our responsibilities
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill. If we damage something through our negligence, tell us as soon as reasonably possible — within 7 days at the latest — and we will repair, replace or compensate fairly. We are insured, and documentation is available with every quote.
We are not liable for items you packed yourself (unless the box itself was mishandled), for items not declared at survey, or for pre-existing defects. Cash, jewellery and irreplaceable documents should travel with you, not in the van.
Your responsibilities
Tell us honestly what's moving or being cleared, flag anything fragile, hazardous or unusual, and make sure someone with authority (you or your representative) can confirm the brief. For clearances: anything you want kept must be identified before we start — once instructed, cleared items may be rehomed or disposed of the same day and cannot be recovered.
Parking permissions or suspensions at either property are your responsibility unless the quote says we're arranging them for you.
Items we cannot take
We can't carry hazardous waste (asbestos, chemicals, fuels, gas bottles), livestock, or anything illegal to possess or transport. If we find such items during a clearance we'll set them aside and advise on the right disposal route.
Complaints
If something's wrong, tell us and we'll try to fix it fast — see our Complaints Procedure for the formal route and timescales.
